Harold Wood Athletic provides an opportunity for over 200 club members to play adult football and we currently run 9 sides, with the 1st & Reserve sides competing in the Premier Division & Senior Division 2 of the Pro-Kit Essex Olympian League.

The A & B teams compete in the First and Forth Divisions of The County Motor Works Vauxhall Mid Essex Football League,
plus Veterans 1st and Reserve sides,both of whom play in The Greene King Essex Veterans League. In The Premier Division & Division3 (West) respectively.

As of Season 2021/22 we have now added a Sunday Team who play in The Brentwood Sunday League-Division 2 and a Vets O45's side that play in the Essex Vets League, O45's Premier Division.
And in Season 22/23 a Sunday Res's side was added to our ranks who compete in The Brentwood League in Division 3.

The Football Club are also members of the Harold Wood Sports Association.
The Harold Wood Sports Association (HWSA) is based within Harold Wood Recreation Park, Harold Wood, Essex and comprises of the following member clubs,

Harold Wood Athletic Football Club (HWAFC)
Harold Wood Cougars Junior Football Club(HWCJFC)
Harold Wood Cricket Club (HWCC)

Each club plays a significant part in providing the opportunity for local people to participate in sport. However, it is football that has the greatest number of participants and the members of the two football clubs utilise the facilities within Harold Wood Recreation Park on a more frequent basis.

The HWSA has adopted the following mission statement as it encapsulates what it is the association it trying to achieve:
